Light and Sturdy Independent from the facade
The living wall attachment structure (made of profiles) is fastened to the building wall with brackets. Its depth can be adjusted to create a variable air space between the modules and the building wall (see pictures above).
This space will guarantee optimum air circulation behind the modules to prevent any risk of condensation or any other exchange between the building wall and the green wall system.
The system is completely waterproof thanks to the overlap existing between the modules, which prevents water from running behind the living wall. Thermal insulation and soundproofing materials are also available.
Lightweight
The total weight of the living wall is approximately 60-70kg/m2 (or 12-14 lb/sq. foot).
(This data includes the plants, the growing medium at saturation, the metallic frame and the bearing structure.)
Solid structure
The modules are generally attached to a structure made of profiles. These profiles can be made of wood (2×4), steel, aluminum or other composite materials. In order to support the weight and therefore guarantee complete safety, the strength of the structure is combined with perfectly designed fasteners.
